Queen of cakes
Queen of baking Mary Berry was providing inspiration for home cooks at Birmingham’s NEC yesterday as Cake International got underway.
The Great British Bake-Off judge cut the ribbon to open the world’s biggest sugarcrafting, cake decorating & baking show, which is now in its 20th year, and is one of the experts demonstrating their skills. Visitors on the first day were left awed by the array of accessories and cakes on show, including a mouth-watering selection of movie-inspired cakes for all occasions, from Hellraiser to Ratatouille and a 5ft Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Carribbean. Cake International runs until 5pm tomorrow.
