Queen must cut budget to £30m

The Queen's household will have to save almost 15 per cent.

The Royal Household is facing a fall in its two main areas of funding – grants-in-aid for royal travel, property maintenance and communication, and the Civil List which pays salaries.

The last financial year’s total for the two funding streams was just over 34m but included more than 6m from palace reserves. In three years the total will fall to around 30m.
