Raid leads to £4,000 drug discovery

Officers raided the house in Church Road, Denaby, on Wednesday, 10 October, after a warrant was issued.

A haul of 13 cannabis plants was recovered as well as 40 seedlings and drugs paraphernalia.

Sgt Dave Cook, who led the operation, said: “Drugs have an impact on the lives of residents and the local community and the execution of this warrant and recovery of drugs will hopefully assist in improving the quality of life for them.

“The information we receive from the public is vital to assist us in locating the properties and tackling the issue. I would continue to urge people to contact the police with any information or concerns they have.”

The raid came less than a fortnight after a teenager from nearby Denaby Main died in the street in the former mining community, south west of Doncaster.

Liam Gill, 16, died in Wadworth Street on September 29 in what police described as a drug-related incident. Six people have been arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs and released on bail.
