Rail failure hits rush-hour services out of Leeds

COMMUTERS faced a nightmare journey home today after a signalling failure hit one of Yorkshire’s busiest rail routes.

Network Rail said a “signalling problem” was causing disruption in the Menston area, between Leeds, Bradford and Ilkley.

All trains between Ilkley and Guiseley were cancelled this afternoon, with major delays out of Leeds.

5.40pm UPDATE: Network Rail reported that some services had resumed between Ilkley and Guiseley, but that delays of up to 20 minutes would continue through the evening rush hour.
