Rail museum’s mini marvels

VISITORS to the National Railway Museum in York are being given the chance to view the giant exhibits from an unusual vantage point – on board a mini-locomotive.

The museum’s staff, Dawn Theaker, senior marketing executive, and Joe Savage, interpretation manager, tested out the pedal-powered Little Play Trains yesterday ahead of a forthcoming toy and model railway event, sponsored by Horby, which will be running during the school half-term holidays this month.

The exhibition, from October 22 -30, will include a model railway that is so small it fits inside a banjo case.
