Railway posterssell for £400,000

A collection of forgotten railway posters found in a terrace home in North Yorkshire has fetched £400,000 at auction.

Malcolm Guest’s 2,500-strong collection of vintage posters, advertising holiday destinations, were discovered in his house in Knaresborough after the retired architect died last July. One poster sold for 6,200 with an American bidder in phone contact with Harrogate auctioneers Morphets for the entire sale which lasted nearly nine hours.
