Ram raiders strike at bank

Thieves are believed to have made off with tens of thousands of pounds after a ram raid at a bank.

Police in Gloucester say a “substantial quantity” of money was stolen from the HSBC bank at Olympus Centre retail park in Quedgeley in Gloucester.

A member of the public reported the incident at 9.25am after a 4x4 car was driven into the door of the building.

Two men wearing balaclavas were seen entering and snatching a substantial amount of money being loaded into a cash machine. The car then made off, police said.
