Real ale fans in quest for the perfect partner
Beer drinkers are to be urged to try different types of snacks and food to match their favourite tipple.
Real ale campaigners said the move is aimed at highlighting the “huge variety” of pub snacks and other types of food they believe perfectly goes with a pint.
Most pubs and restaurants promote wine with food, but the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) said that, with more than 8,000 real ales and 1,000 breweries, there are beer flavours to go with any dish. Camra is suggesting a series of strong and mild beers, porters, wheat beers, bitters and golden ales to go with dishes ranging from curry, chicken and, of course, fish and chips.
