Region features in new bathing guide

TWENTY public bathing water sites in Yorkshire have been featured in an online guide which includes assessments of their cleanliness.

Published by the Environment Agency, the profiles include maps, photographs and links to the latest water quality results, and are designed to help people choose the best locations to visit and enjoy.

The coastal and inland bathing sites in the county range from the top of North Yorkshire to Withernsea in the East Riding and are among 500 in England and Wales included in the guide. More than eight in 10 beaches in England and Wales meet European standards, up from three in 10 in 1990.
