Retailers hopeful despite sales drop
High street retailers are still expecting a pre-Christmas boost despite a slowdown in sales growth this month.
A CBI survey published yesterday showed a balance of 36 per cent of retailers had reported rises in sales in October compared with 49 per cent who reported increases in September.
