Royal honour for autism centre

THE Princess Royal met Sheffield industrialist Sir Noman Adsetts yesterday as she officially opened the new headquarters of his Adsetts Partnership, which provides services for people with autism.

Sir Norman showed the Princess around the building alongside the River Don in the city centre. It was once home to Sheffield’s Whitbread Exchange brewery but has been completely renovated.

The chief executive of the Adsetts Partnership, Philip Bartey, said: “We have a long association with the Princess as she opened one of our specialist autism centres in Doncaster, back in 1987.”

As part of yesterday’s visit, the Princess Royal also visited a Sheffield factory and
a horticultural project in Adwick in
Doncaster.
