Saddle up for free bicycle training

RESIDENTS of Bakewell are being offered free bicycle training in a bid to get more people peddling to work or the shops this autumn.

Learn to Ride and Dr Bike maintenance sessions are being offered free of charge by the Peak District National Park's cycling project, Pedal Peak District, in partnership with the Pedal Ready Cycling Training co-operative from Sheffield.

People can bring their own bike or borrow one for free for the training which starts on October 3, and will be held every week up until November 7, at the rear of the Agricultural Business Centre.

Max McCulloch, of the Pedal Ready Cycle Training co-operative, said: "It's never too late to learn to ride a bike. With the right techniques and a little patience, it is possible to learn to ride whether you're a teenager, a pensioner, or a mum or dad."
