School honoured over talent

Leeming RAF School has become the first in North Yorkshire to be given a national award for looking after its most talented pupils.

The Challenge Award by NACE (National Association of Able Children's Education) is reserved for schools which make exceptionally good provision for gifted children. Head Caroline Potter said '"We had to show how we develop the special talents of each and every child. We give children lots of opportunities to develop their abilities, whether these are academic, creative or sports-based.

"We develop children's thinking skills, and give them opportunities for solving problems, for working together, and for trying new activities."
