Scotland Yard hunts foreign fugitives

A murder suspect with links to Yorkshire is one of 14 “dangerous” foreign fugitives being hunted by UK police for serious crimes committed abroad.

Tato Kakauridze, 33, a Georgian national who is believed to have connections with Leeds and surrounding areas, is on the run from authorities in Tblisi.

His name is on a list of suspects sought by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Operation Sunfire, set up to trace men wanted for crimes in foreign countries who could be in the UK.

Detectives yesterday appealed for help in arresting the men so they can be put before the extradition courts to face justice abroad.

The suspects include Ndrieim Sadushi, 41, who is accused of three murders and an attempted murder in Albania in 1997, and fellow murder suspects Ioan Cretu, 36, from Romania, and Dariusz Hanusiak, 28, from Poland.

Mehmoud Farah, a 52-year-old Egyptian who speaks Arabic and Italian, is wanted in Italy for sexually assaulting a male.

Three alleged robbers on the list are Radoslaw Nkaye, 32, from Poland; Costin Cristian Stoica, 23, from Romania; and Ion Ciprian Bobocel, 27, also from Romania.

Stoica, who has links to north London and could be working as a plumber or electrician, is thought to have sprayed his victim in the face with a noxious substance and stolen her handbag.

Four men are wanted for causing grievous bodily harm. They are Polish pair Dominik Witczak, 27, and Michal Smolen, 26; Adrian Vasilescu, 31, from Romania; and Dane Charles Vidgen, 27, who is wanted by authorities in Australia.

Brothers Wojciech, 29, and Dariusz Glowacki, 33, are wanted by police in Poland for child rapes.

Detective Sergeant Pete Rance, who is leading Operation Sunfire, said many of the men were dangerous and should not be approached.
