The National Trust site at Brimham Rocks, near Pateley Bridge in North Yorkshire, is showing the work of local artist Linda Thompson, which features pieces including a pair of hands entitled Dreamcatcher and a 4ft “fairy ring”. The works can be viewed both inside and close to the visitor centre until July 14.

Visitor services manager, Stephanie Hinchcliffe, said: “We’ve had a number of art exhibitions in the house but this is the first outdoor sculpture. We think it fits perfectly with the surroundings of the rocks’ natural formations and is a welcome addition for visitors coming for a day out this summer.”

Ms Thompson added: “I’ve visited this place so many times over the years as a child, parent and grandparent and have always been fascinated by these almost mythically shaped rocks, set amongst a moorland background with clear blue skies.”

Alongside the outdoor part of the exhibition, a number of illustrations by the artist are on display inside Brimham House. The outdoor pieces can be found in the paddock in front of Brimham House.

Brimham Rocks is free to visit, although parking charges apply to non-National Trust members. Brimham House is open from 11am to 5pm.
