Seaside couple held for murder - 10 years after Bradford man disappears

A MAN and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a 41-year-old man who disappeared in Bradford 10 years ago.

Alan Crabtree, of Tong Street, Bradford, has not been seen since he was reported missing in September 2000.

A 38-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman were arrested in the resort of Margate, Kent, on Tuesday, on suspicion of Mr Crabtree`s murder and were being interviewed by detectives.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said it was believed that Mr Crabtree travelled from his home to Keighley, where he visited an address on Alice Street, on September 13, 2000.

Since that date, there have been no confirmed sightings of Mr Crabtree and a body has never been found.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team travelled to Kent to arrest the two suspects, who are believed to have been living in the Bradford district at the time of Mr Crabtree`s disappearance.
