Seven arrested in Wakefield

Seven people have been arrested following an incident in Ossett, Wakefield, in which two men were found unconscious near a bus stop in Manor Road.

Five men and two women, all in their 20s, were arrested last night in the Horbury area and are currently being questioned at police stations across West Yorkshire.

The two victims, aged 25 and 35, have regained consciousness at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and are assisting police. They have been identified and are not local to West Yorkshire.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in Manor Road and Ossett between Saturday night and and 7.20am Sunday to contact police on 0845 6060606..

Enquiries so far have led officers to believe that the men may have spent yesterday evening in Leeds.
