Seven arrests on match day

SEVEN men were arrested for minor public order offences as fears of trouble between Leeds United and Milwall supporters proved unfounded.

There was a heavy police presence in Leeds city centre before the early kick off at 12.30pm. Previous matches between the two clubs have resulted in outbreaks of disorder. Chief Superintendent Mark Milsom, Match Commander for the policing operation, said the match had been given a category "C" rating – the highest risk level.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said after the match: ''The vast majority of a 25,000 strong crowd behaved impeccably. There have been seven arrests."
