Stancil Brewery is best known for taking brewing kit from the now demolished Oakwell Brewery in Barnsley and setting up 10 miles away in the centre of Sheffield.
Stancil makes lager and bitter, including award-winning Barnsley Bitter.
The latest offering is Sheffield Gin which is sold in bars including The Old House on Devonshire Street, Sheffield, which is noted for its selection of gins.
The company has produced 80 bottles but more are on the way, along with special made labels.
The team has been experimenting with various flavours to give Sheffield Gin a unique taste.
As well as using juniper berries grown locally, the brewers have also added a dash of Henderson’s Relish, the spicy Sheffield-made sauce which can trace its history back to the latter part of the 19th century,
They have been assisted by Rob Jones, who has been learning the art of distilling gin thanks to a Government grant.
Sheffield Gin is attracting interest from buyers in China and Taiwan.
