Sheffield woman on trial for sharing ISIS execution videos and '˜details of potential targets'

A SHEFFIELD woman has gone on trial for allegedly sharing ISIS terrorist propaganda - including footage of executions and '˜details of potential targets'.

Zafreen Khadam, 32, from Vincent Road, Nether Edge, denies 10 counts of dissemination of terrorist publications, including content relating to ‘Jihadi John’.

A jury was sworn at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday morning, with the prosecution set to open its case against her on Friday.

The offences are alleged to have occurred between February and March 2015.

Khadam is alleged to have provided a link to a document encouraging providing assistance to ISIS ‘and details of potential targets’.

Among the other offences she is charged with, it is alleged she provided a link to a video showing the execution of a Jordanian pilot who was burnt alive, as well as another showing other executions.

She is also alleged to have provided a link to content called ‘Jihadi John and The Right to Be Violent’, as well as sharing an audio message from ISIS.

She is also accused of providing a link to a YouTube video ‘showing military training of young children’ and content called ‘So They Kill And Are Killed’.

Khadam is charged with providing links to copies of Dabiq, an ISIS propaganda magazine and sharing a speech called ‘What is terrorism?’ from Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who is the leader of the terrorist group.

She is also alleged to have provided a link to a document relating to ‘security precautions’ for the ‘Islamic caliphate’.

The offences she is charged with are contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Khadam has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges against her.

The case is being heard by Judge Julian Goose QC, honorary recorder of Sheffield.
