Somalia at top of corruption league

Somalia is the most corrupt country in the world, followed by Afghanistan, Burma and Iraq, an international watchdog said today. Transparency International found that Denmark, New Zealand and Singapore tied for first place as least corrupt nations.

The group found that some countries hard hit by the global financial crisis became more corrupt. Among those were Greece and Italy.

Of the 178 countries surveyed, Britain came 20th and Ireland 14th.
