Sound idea to help children
Two Leeds pubs will have the sweet sound of music ringing out when their latest charity scheme – The Big Noise – launches next week.
Yesterday Simon Robinson, of Aire of the Dog, in Cardigan Fields, left, and Robert Dunn, of The Barnbow, Austhorpe Road, got in a little practice for the event in which regulars are being encouraged to dig out musical instruments which will benefit youngsters through dedicated music therapy charities. From recorders to saxophones, the instruments will boost a variety of music therapy projects helping local children.
These include Brainwave, which provides support for children with cerebral palsy and developmental delay, and several National Autistic Society schools.
The Big Noise will culminate in a unique Skype Orchestra planned to coincide with World Music Day on June 21.
