Special award recognises girl with passion for science and engineering
Amber Thiara, a student at Bradford Girls' Grammar School, has consistently shone in projects run by Inspirations, the education scheme run by North Yorkshire Business & Education Partnership with the Yorkshire Air Museum.
More than 500 pupils from across the region joined in the celebrations at the awards, including East Yorkshire, York, North Yorkshire, Amber's classmates from Bradford and South Craven School. Hull businesses were involved in judging the projects.

However, she has always just missed out on becoming the overall winner, and receiving the Sir George Cayley Cup.
So this year, the Inspirations Steering Group decided to present her with an Inspirations Special Award, sponsored by Wakefield-based Coca Cola Enterprises Ltd, in recognition of her dedication.
She is now in line for a place to read engineering at St. Catherine's College, Cambridge, with offers also for Imperial College London and Loughborough University.
