Star swaps Cuba for Yorkshire as ballet company's premier dancer
Torres, whose repertoire includes leading roles in Giselle, Copplia, The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake, makes the move after nine years dancing with Ballet National de Cuba. A growing international star, he was a guest artist with fellow Cuban the Royal Ballet principal Carlos Acosta in London in 2007, and performed at the Teresa Carreo Theatre Gala, Venezuela.
Torres said: "I'm thrilled to have joined the company and to be dancing here in the UK.

He makes his debut in David Nixon's Swan Lake at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford from September 29 – October 2, before going on tour to Woking, Aylesbury, Nottingham, Norwich, Sheffield, Manchester and completing the Autumn/ Winter tour in Leeds.
