It will be the fourth year the Bupa Great Yorkshire Run has taken place and up to 10,000 runners, walkers and joggers are expected to take part.

At yesterday’s launch event in Fargate, the three celebrity runners and Coun Paul Scriven, leader of Sheffield Council, said they would be running for various charities.

Best known for playing Bob Hope in Emmerdale, Mr Audenshaw will be running for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.

Both Mr Dennis, who has appeared in Mock The Week and Outnumbered, and Miss Mei, a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, will be running for Bupa’s nominated charity, the Alzheimer’s Society.
