Steam gala time
Guest steam engine 44871 Black 5 chugs into Levisham Station on the opening day of a Spring Steam Gala on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Locomotives spanning almost a century of service will be in operation during the gala which started yesterday and will run for three weekends.
NYMR general manager Philip Benham said: "Our gala days really are a step back in time and bring together a variety of rolling stock to help recreate the railways of the past.
"We hope that families and enthusiasts alike will give their support to our gala weekends."
