Steroid dealers may be stripped of huge profits

DRUG dealers who were convicted of making hundreds of thousands of pounds selling illegal steroids through a Yorkshire gym could be ordered to pay their profits back to the public purse at a hearing on Tuesday.

Christopher Taylor, 45, of Haugh Green, Rawmarsh, Rotherham, and Richard Flynn, 40, of the town's Manor Close, will appear at Sheffield Crown Court.

Police have made an application under the Proceeds of Crime Act and will ask a judge to consider benefits of 292,000 for Flynn and more than 283,000 for Taylor.

Both men received suspended prison sentences in October 2009 after they were caught selling the steroids to users of a local gym in Parkgate, Rotherham.
