Students share the recipe for low-carbon cooking
The book Carbon Cutting Cooking, created by Leeds University's Rebecca Hurst, Jenny Lines, Tom McAllister and Steve Hutton, has earned national recognition after being named runner-up in the final of competition which challenged students to develop a project promoting "local sustainability".

Hide AdTheir work educating children on the importance of using seasonal produce to cut the energy and carbon emissions associated with their food has also earned celebrity support, with Masterchef presenter Gregg Wallace donating a recipe for the book.
The team entered their project into the nPower Future Leaders competition and were given a grant of 500 which they used to print out thousands of copies of Carbon Cutting Cooking.
They have also distributed the books to local schools and visited primaries and secondaries to give cookery classes and demonstrations.
