The stories of the workers and owners of York’s chocolate factories during the First World War and those of the young men involved conflict are being told in a new production.

Blood + Chocolate, written by York’s own playwright Mike Kenny, will be performed all around the city, as the audience are given a unique experience to follow the story through the city’s streets as well as listen in via headphones to the character’s intimate conversations.

Rehearsals are currently taking place for the production which will be one of the largest theatrical productions ever staged in the city with a cast of 180 players and a further 600 support staff and stage management involved.

Blood + Chocolate will have its world premiere in York from October 3-20.
