Taxi row man left critical

A MAN is fighting for his life after being struck by a taxi following a row about the fare.

Police said the 18-year-old received life-threatening injuries in Maltby, Rotherham, at 3.55am yesterday after the man and his girlfriend reached Disraeli Grove.

Police say the man got out of the blue Toyota Avensis while his girlfriend was inside, disputing the bill.

But the taxi driver is then alleged to have locked her in the car and attempted to drive off and the boyfriend, from Maltby, was knocked down. He was in a critical condition yesterday.

A man, 27, from Rotherham, has been arrested and witnesses should call 0114 220 2970.
