Theatre lines up comedy favourites

Several shows are already nearly sold out – including those by Shappi Khorsandi, star of BBC1's Live at the Apollo, Joe Pasquale and John Shuttleworth.

The Comedy Sundays season get under way this weekend with an appearance by stand-up Alun Cochrane, who grew up in West Yorkshire.

Another Truck favourite, Chris Addison, best known from appearances on the award-winning comedy, The Thick of It, and follow-on film, In The Loop, will return on October 17.

The theatre is one of the hosts of Hull Comedy Festival, which runs from October 26 to November 7.

The head of marketing and communications, Victoria Yates, said: "We are really proud of the fantastic names that we manage to attract to the city – and obviously our audiences are also impressed, judging by the bookings we have taken already."
