Threat to pub over under-age drinking
A review of the licence for the Hole in the Wall, in Scarborough, is to take place at a Scarborough Council licensing committee on Thursday.
North Yorkshire Police officers have made several visits to the pub in recent months. On one Friday night, they discovered 13 out of 75 customers were underage, with six 16-year-olds and one as young as 15.

On another occasion, in October, two teenagers were arrested following an assault of a woman in the town – an incident for which they were later convicted.
When they were interviewed by detectives, they both claimed they had been drinking alcohol in the Hole In The Wall before the attack.
One even said he had been downing shots which cost only 50p each.
The licence holders at the pub have been invited to Thursday’s meeting and will be given an opportunity to address committee members.
