Tomlinson appeal at heart of campus life as fundraisers move to new home

Mike Tomlinson turned removal man yesterday as The Jane Tomlinson Appeal moved to a new home.

Following a long standing relationship with Leeds City College, the appeal has cemented the partnership by moving its operations to the college’s Horsforth Campus.

The appeal is responsible for organising the Run For All series, along with such recent additions as the Swim For All and Walk For All events.

This year alone the college had more than 100 staff and students taking part in the Leeds 10K and staff also took part in the inaugural Swim For All.

Several staff will also help with the Yorkshire Dales Walking Festival this month.

Mr Tomlinson said: “One of our highlights over the last few years has been the growing relationship between us and Leeds City College.”

Deputy principal David Fell said: “Mike and his team will be at the heart of campus life, and we are delighted that they have agreed to enrich the lives of all our students by offering hands-on work experience, both with the charity, one of the largest in the regions, and the Run For All events.”

The appeal was established by the late Jane Tomlinson CBE to raise funds for children’s and cancer charities.
