Transport schemes axed by council

NORTH Yorkshire County Council is to trim its programme of transport improvement schemes following more than £2m cuts in Government grants.

The county council's Executive Members for Business and Environmental Services (BES) has approved a package of measures which will enable the authority to address the recent budget reductions imposed by the Department for Transport.

Twelve schemes have been axed from this year's Integrated Transport programme, and over 20 others have been reduced in scope and cost.
