17-year-old dead after pile-up in Leeds

A TEENAGE driver has died after a crash between four vehicles in a village on the outskirts of Leeds this morning (Thursday).

The 17-year-old boy was in a Vauxhall Corsa that was involved in the collision on Astley Lane in Great Preston shortly after 7.30am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other drivers have been taken to hospital for treatment but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The Corsa had been heading from Swillington towards Great Preston at the time of the incident and the other vehicles were travelling in the opposite direction.

The road has been closed while the scene is cleared.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or the circumstances leading up to it is asked to call the West Yorkshire Police major collision enquiry team via 101.
