Police appeal after 25-year-old motorcyclist dies in Mother's Day crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 25-year-old man died in a crash on Mother's Day (March 22).

The crash, involving a white Renault Megane and a white off-road motorcycle, happened at around 4.40pm on Cemetery Road, at the junction with Lady Croft Lane, in the Hemingfield area of Barnsley.

The 25-year-old motorcyclist, who was from Barnsley, was left with fatal injuries. His family have been informed and are being looked after by specially-trained police officers.

The driver of the Renault, a 27-year-old man, was not injured.

Witnesses to the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 495 of 22 March 2020.
