Three casualties taken to hospital after fire crews attend serious crash in Drighlington

Three fire crews attended a serious car crash on the Drighlington bypass on Thursday evening.

Two vehicles were involved in a serious accident at Drighlington bypass.

The collision between a red Seat Leon and a white Ford Ranger happened at around 7.43pm on Thursday, March 22.

The vehicles were travelling in the direction of Bradford when they crashed, near to the junction with Field Head Lane.

Two vehicles were involved in a serious accident at Drighlington bypass.

The Seat Leon then crashed into a lamppost.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene of the crash at 7.51pm.

Two crews from Dewsbury and one from Cleckheaton attended the incident which involved two small vehicles.

One casualty was trapped in their car and needed to be removed by the fire service.

Three casualties were taken to hospital by paramedics.

The driver of the Ford Ranger sustained serious injuries in the collision. The driver of the Seat Leon sustained slightl injuries.

The crash happened on the A650 which remains closed this morning in both directions from B6125 Field Head Lane to A58 Whitehall Road East.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the crash, anyone who has dash cam footage is asked to contact police.

Officers would also like to hear from anyone who saw either car driving in the area prior to the collision.
