Traffic chaos as crash closes southbound Humber Bridge
WIDESPREAD traffic congestion has been reported after police closed the southbound carriageway of the Humber Bridge this morning following a crash.
A woman suffered head injuries when her VW Golf rolled on to its roof after colliding with the central reservation. She has been taken to Hull Royal Infirmary.
The southbound carriageway is expected to be closed for several hours, with no alternative route.
Police have asked drivers to be patient and also appealed for witnesses, who are asked to call 0845 606 0222.
The northbound carriageway of the bridge is open and running as usual.
