TUC warning over young unemployed
Crucial new figures out today will show whether the Government's investment in keeping young people off the dole was paying off or whether recent encouraging signs were just a "blip", said union leaders.
The TUC said it will be studying today’s jobless figures closely. It warned that a rise of over 10,000 in the number of unemployed 18 to 24-year-olds would indicate that it will be a long time before the youth recession ends.
