Two die in light aircraft crash

TWO people were killed when a plane crashed near an airport in Oxfordshire.

Police said the two-seater aircraft came down a field near the A4095 in Bladon, near Oxford Airport, at about 2pm yesterday.

Witnesses reported hearing the engine stall before the sound of a crash. Flames from the wreckage were seen rising 30ft into the air. Police said the plane involved was a light aircraft.

Maffi Moushkila was in the nearby village of Thrupp when he heard the plane crash. "I heard the engine stop and about two seconds afterwards there was a bang," he said. "About 20 seconds later there was another bang."
