Two hurt as fire sreads through terrace

TWO men were in stable condition in hospital today after fire tore through a terrace of houses in a north Lincolnshire village.

The fire, believed to have started in a kitchen on Regent Terrace, in New Holland, quickly spread through the attics of houses on either side, forcing residents to evacuate their homes.

A 33-year-old man and a 62-year-old man, who were outside by the time firecrews arrived, were rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary. The younger man has since been transferred to a specialist burns unit at Wythenshawe

Hospital, Manchester.

Police said the fire, which broke out on Monday night, was not being treated as suspicious.
