Bangkok to Bradford for new headmaster

BRADFORD Grammar School has appointed a new headmaster to take over from Stephen Davidson, who is to retire in December.

He will be replaced by Kevin Riley, head of the Harrow International School in Bangkok.

The move to Bradford will see him return to the region where he started his teaching career – at Pocklington School. Mr Riley has also taught at Wolverhampton Grammar and been the head of both Bristol Cathedral School and the John Lyon School.

He said: “I am thrilled to be the next head of Bradford Grammar. It is a school that has an enviable reputation and I want to build on the tremendous work of the current head Stephen Davidson.”

Mr Davidson praised the appointment of Mr Riley, adding: “It was never going to be easy watching my successor appointed, almost like handing a family to someone new but I can think of no one better to take on the role.

“He is a superb head whose values of promoting academic excellence alongside a huge range of extra-curricular activities, which is almost unique here at Bradford Grammar, mirror my own.”
