Cleaning up for the bagpipe festival

PREPARATIONS have been getting under way for the Glasgow International Piping Festival and the World Pipe Band Championships, which will both be held in the Scottish city in a few months’ time.

And, at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum yesterday , cleaner Debbie Campbell found herself looking on as contestants and performers (from 9 o’clock position clockwise) Hayley McInnes, Laurie MacKinnon, Callum Moffat, Scott Wood, Alisdair McLaren and Callum Buchan, positioned themselves around a picture of the world to publicise the events. The festival and contest are scheduled to take place from August 6 to 12 have been described as the world’s biggest week of traditional music – with about 40,000 visitors and 8,000 pipers expected to descend on the city.
