Police break up illegal rave

Police have broken up an illegal rave attended by over 1,000 people.

Officers were called just after 12.30am yesterday to the site at Bellever Woods in Postbridge, on Dartmoor, Devon.

Police said no permission was sought for the event and heavy rain overnight was making driving in the rural area hazardous. A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “The land is owned by the Forestry Commission and no permission has been sought or granted by them to hold this rave.

Officers set up roadblocks to stop further people from attending the area.
