Review to improve children’s teachers
Children’s Minister Sarah Teather has ordered a review to improve qualifications for those working with under-fives.
It will be led by Professor Cathy Nutbrown from Sheffield University.
It follows a review led by Dame Clare Tickell, calling for those who work with under-fives to have A-levels or the equivalent. But more than one in four only hold GCSE-level qualifications or less.
Professor Nutbrown added: “We need a workforce that feels equipped to do their job.”
