Two schools set to get £15m backing

PLANS to invest £15m creating two special school buildings in Bradford are being recommended for approval by a council scrutiny committee next week.

Bradford Council could build an emotional, social and behavioural (ESB) needs school and a communication and interaction school as part of an overhaul of its special needs education.

Six primary and secondary schools have been developed with Building Schools for the Future (BSF) cash.

But Bradford’s plans were put on hold when Michael Gove axed the BSF scheme. They since intend to fund the schools themselves.
