Warne bowls Hurley over

The 42-year-old former Australian Test cricketer proposed to the actress and model on Friday evening at St Andrews in Scotland, where he was taking part in the Alfred Dunhill Links golf championship.

Tournament organisers said that the pair celebrated the event with guests in St Andrews’ Old Course Hotel.

Earlier in the day, Ms Hurley, 46, had watched the divorced former spin bowler play in the second round of the championship, where he partnered Australian professional Peter O’Malley.

Ms Hurley tweeted to her fans: “Thanks for all your congratulations.”

Her four-year marriage to businessman Arun Nayar ended in divorce at the High Court in London in June.

They married in a civil ceremony at Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, in 2007 and then had traditional Indian wedding celebrations at the Mehrangarh fort in Jodhpur.
