Updated: E-fit image released after man, 29, assaulted in failed Doncaster robbery
The 29-year-old male victim was walking along Lyndale Road, in Edenthorpe, on Monday at around 8pm, when an unknown man approached him and asked for the time.
When the victim looked at his watch he was assaulted and the suspect tried to pull the watch off his hand.

Hide AdThe suspect fled empty-handed towards Thorne Road after being fought off by the victim, who suffered minor injuries to his arm.
The suspect was described as white, aged in his mid 20s, around 6ft tall and of a skinny build. He had pale skin with a pronounced chin and gelled ginger hair that was shorter on the sides and longer on top.
He was wearing a blue Adidas t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms, and spoke with a local accent.
South Yorkshire Police are urging witnesses to call them on 101, quoting log 1152 of July 18 2016, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
