As Yorkshire Day, August 1 provides an opportunity for residents to mark what is great about living, working or visiting the county.

In Filey, Responsible Fishing UK, an arts collective, created a large-scale sand drawing on the beach. Working in the early hours of the morning, a team of artists used rakes to mark out the sand drawing, which included a Yorkshire rose.

They were washed away later as the tide came in.
