Video: Nude exhibition to open Hepworth Wakefield’s art space
A revealing exhibition by Turner Prize-nominated Roger Hiorns will be the first exhibition at the Hepworth Wakefield’s new Caddies Mill contemporary art space.
Hiorns’s Youth comprises of objects like street benches, jet and car engines and steel tables being “activated” through the presence of a naked youth and a small fire.
The exhibition, which will run from August 30 to November 3, is intended to emphasise objects that we might otherwise feel disconnected from and invest them with an action, the human body and a sense of a contemporary ritual.
Visitors will experience a backdrop of interior sounds that will be transmitted live from Wakefield Cathedral into the exhibition space.
